First Week Postpartum Needs

So it’s almost arrival time for your little one and you have everything ready for baby but what about you mama? You need to prep for the first week postpartum care too!

Here’s what i’ve actually found useful during my first week postpartum (p.s. not sponsored just helpful).

For the bathroom:

Frida Mom peri bottle: the hospital one does the job but this is much more convenient. I didn’t bring it in my hospital bag and i’m glad, they really give you everything you need.

Frida Mom liners: these are stronger than the Tucks ones, i’ve only used them a few times for “quicker” relief.

Tucks: a must have, I use these every time I change.

Earth Mama Perineal Spray: smells good, feels good, naturally good, and the bottle sprays upside down.

Neosporin +pain relief: doctor recommended this and it’s been beyond helpful.

Rael overnight pads: such a comfortable fit, much better than the hospital ones (even though I did use those up first).

Deep underwear: you can get this pack - I just had a bunch from different places that have worked perfect. Target, Victoria’s Secret, etc. Have at least 5 so you’re not constantly doing laundry.

For the breasts:

Earth Mama Nipple Butter: it smells amazing and gives relief quick. Plus it’s safe for baby so no need to wipe off before feeding!

Aquaphor baby: it takes a while for your nipples to adjust, if you get super dry use this right after a feeding so it has time to soak in. PS you can also use it down there for extra moisture!

Haakaa: get this if you don’t have an electric pump. I haven’t found it super useful but it did help when my milk was still coming in and I could put it on the other side while feeding.

For general use:

VAVA night light: don’t ask why, just buy. This light has been amazing. I use it every single night. To see baby when she feeds, to walk around without turning on bright lights, to see the snacks on my nightstand, it’s a must have.

Nursing bras: I love both of these. CLICK.

Flannels: or button down shirts, I walk around with a nursing bra, leggings, and flannel daily. It’s my mom uniform for now.

Postpartum leggings: you think you won’t want anything tight on but you’re wrong, these feel so good and keeping it all compact is a must.

Hydro flask: you’re gonna be thirsty, be ready.

Lactation snacks: if you’re planning on breast feeding it’s not a bad idea to get some stocked up! This boobie bark is delicious and definitely helped me. P.S. You’ll want snacks in general, the hunger is real.

Scrunchie: my hair is constantly getting pulled back so I love having something quick & cute to use!

There you go, that’s everything i’ve used, every single day postpartum!

If you have any questions feel free to DM me, I’m here for you mama. You’ve got this!

Oh and word of advice? Don’t stress over this and having all the things the hospital helps and you figure it out quick. Plus amazon ships fast.
